Since January 2014, DoD reporting of property to the IUID Registry includes all government-furnished property. As a result they have expanded capabilities in iRAPT to capture property transfers in support of the electronic management of GFP data and amended DFARS to add instructions for utilizing the WAWF Reparable Receiving Report.

With DFARS 252.211-7007, the Pentagon mandated all of its contractors to comply with a process that leads to assets and property being listed in the IUID Registry. For this transfer of custody to meet contract requirements under DFARs, contractors must have the correct IUID label that matches the custody transfer documents and data being submitted to the IUID Registry.

Property managers with responsibility over GFP need to develop a sound UID implementation plan and be prepared to execute that plan. A thorough understanding and implementation of all pertinent IUID requirements under DFARS is vital to your ability to pass your next DCMA audit.
