About Our Coaches

David J. Collins
David is often called the “father of the bar code industry” having led the original bar code project, KarTrack, for Sylvannia in the early 1960s and founding Computer Identics Corp in 1968, the first company to design and manufacture commercial bar code scanners. Since then, Collins and his team have overseen thousands of bar code installations around the world. As a member of the IUID integrated product team (IPT) David is uniquely qualified to respond to the questions and concerns of companies of all sizes, including large, multi-national enterprises.

Charles R. Mara
As an internationally-recognized expert on bar code labeling, marking, verification and validation, Chuck has a thorough knowledge of MIL-STD-130, data matrix configuration and data syntax. A mechanical engineer, he brings 35 years of experience in AIT to assist A2B customers with the selection of appropriate UID label, tag and marking solutions, including choice of construct, marking layout, durability testing and other relevant issues necessary for UID compliance.

James Daniels
As UID Comply! product manager, Jim attends all IUID Registry and related working groups. As the lead on product development that is central to large segments of the military, he is steeped in current IUID policy. His particular expertise includes the IUID Registry, data management to output devices, scanning and validation, network certification and IUID network topologies.

Timothy M. Collins
Tim oversees all operations at A2B, including software development, technical support, order fulfillment, customer service and our professional services teams. He has extensive experience in every facet of UID, including policy. And his view of customer needs and concerns is first-hand, having overseen the installation of IUID systems for many A2B customers, including DoD suppliers and the military services.
