Audit Readiness

Pat Jacklets, CPPM CF, and Sharrieff Christmas will present on Thursday Nov. 1st at 10am to kick off the popular breakout sessions. Their session will focus on The Impact of Audit Readiness and How to Prepare. This session will be a highlight of the conference and one that you will not want to miss.

Audit Readiness was a major initiative in 2018 for the Defense Department and will arguably be even more important in 2019. The emphasis on audit preparation is putting increased importance on financial, property and inventory data accuracy. Since audits for the Defense Industry are now an annual requirement, what does this mean for government organizations and contractors in 2019?

One thing that seems certain is that the Defense Audit will not go away any time soon. “It’ll be an annual process, and as I like to say to the workforce, it will go on as long as we both shall live” DoD Comptroller David Norquist said in a recent interview.

If your organization does business with the DoD, or hopes to in the future, you need to have an audit readiness plan in place. And your audit preparation plan needs to be embraced across the entire organization, so that you can properly capture and report all critical asset information from cradle to grave.
